Look around the inside ring of the CD. Etched into the disc are a bunch of numbers and letters. This tells you who manufactured the disc. The World Serpent discs had the code PDO on them because the pressing plant was PDO. Enough people complained and PDO repressed the discs and if you sent in your damaged disc, the would replace it. PDO had a bad bunch of runs with discs that go bad like this quickly. Eventually, it impacts the sound quality on the discs. Maybe if Mr Lewis slightly altered the lyrics of NEWS to 'Blow my nose and head out east' he could get some filthy advertising lucre! Might be an improvement on 'HOXY will always offer you a rich and comfortable life with paper.' Cool in the north and very warm in the south The Ideal Copy makes you happy! Taking into account the feedback received over the last month (thanks to all those who replied) the site now boasts a clean new look, along with new sections to house articles and info. (It should also load a tad quicker now as well!) In addition to this and a long-belated review of Life in the Manscape we have all the usual Wire news, and the latest WMO newsletter. And now a quick request: if you visit Wireviews with a 640x480 monitor resolution or WebTV, please let me know how the site looks for you now, as it should be a lot easier to view. Feedback from everyone else, of course, would be welcome! http://welcome.to/wireviews Cheers, Craig.
