No record company would risk the PC backlash by releasing Skrewdriver's 77 stuff. Shame, as on purely punk terms it's one of the better Division 2 offerings.....and before they went Nazi. Paul, There were two really good singles - Antisocial and You're so Dumb. Real driving 77 punk - much better than Sham 69. Antisocial really should be on any essential 77 compilation. The album is more of the same. Mind you, I only have it on tape and haven't played it for years so it might sound crap now! What's sad is that I found mine, still shrinkwrapped, for about $2.50 at the store 2 blocks from my house roughly a half-decade ago. As someone else has noted, before Ian Stuart became a raving Nazi they weren't bad at all -- best songs were indeed Anti-Social, You're So Dumb (one of which is on the LP, one of which isn't ... both are on Chiswick's Long Shots, Dead Certs & Odds-On Favourites comp) & Government Action. Back to listening to Floodland ... (& wondering how in hell my CDs of Chumba's She's Got All the Friends EP & the Small Wonder vol. II collection disappeared several months ago before I could even play 'em) Dab >>>and even worse , i looked at ebay and tried to look at "punk" , you get about 5000 entries. to cut it down >>i looked at the expensive stuff only (20$ +). do you realise people are bidding $100/120 for the first >>skrewdriver lp? now that is sad. > > > > ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Jul 2000 23:53:15 EDT From: Eardrumbuz@aol.com Subject: in esse (was Re: What new Dome LP?)
