If so, then I agree, it's really good. But even better, in my opinion, is the 1990 update of 'Underwater Experiences' on the same disc. Totally manic. Fascinating evolution from the original demo on 'Behind the Curtain', through the live '79 versions on D&E. Each so different, and each so brilliant. >> Who published the Exploded Views book? Is it still available? I'd like a copy. The book comprises interviews with Wire, plus some lyrics. I seem to remember that the interviews are very similar to those in Kevin Eden's book. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Jun 2000 09:43:21 -0400 From: "A. Izenstark" Subject: Copy of Everybody Loves a History found! Greetings! I have located a brand new copy of Everybody Loves a History, and would be willing to pick it up for someone who might want it. I believe it was $16.95, and I'd charge $3.20 for shipping in the US. The caveat is, of course, that someone may purchase it before I get back to the bookstore later this week, but I don't think that's terribly likely. If you're interested, email me, and we'll work out the details. I wouldn't expect payment until I had the book in my hands. They were indeed excellent, they seem to have dealt better with the ravages of time than Wire, they must be using beer shampoo or something.!! A supporting T.V. Smith was a turn up for the books too, playing 'Bored teenagers' at the age of 44!! Very amusing. I was amazed at ecstatic response they got from the crowd, I also pogoed, 'second skin' did it for me... Who was the rasta guy who came on at the end?? Linton?? It's written from a fan's perspetictive so not totally unbiased, but his enthusiasm for the subject is winning. Neu! are a must, others include Cosmic Jokers, Guru Guru, Klaus Schultze and Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra, Amon Duul 2, amongst others. A good source for this (and like minded progressive/alternative/pysch stuff is Jade Hubertz. Email him at the cc address. I guess you know about this, but if not, Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones have a project called Sunroof, they had make some remixes for different people, amongst them are Can and Neu! (well, the Neu! isnīt a remix, in fact is a cover version of "Hero", with Angela Conway on vocals). Now they are working in a Faust remix of "Carousel 2", so soon you will have a Faust remixes album. More bands like them? Since this 3 bands are some of the Daniel Miller all time favourites, maybe you can check the Daniel Miller Hour set lists (and hear it) at http://www.radioeins.de/sendungen/elektro_beats/ he have this monthly program in the german radio and surely you will find something interesting. Kreidler, Appliance, Echoboy, Tarwater, To Rococo Rot, Kante are doing some "Krautrock" stylish music.
