On the subject of MacKay and Morris post Banshees. There was a programme on the BBC in the last couple of years on which both of the above were interviewed. MacKay eventually released a single under the name of Zor Gabor. Morris released a 12" single called "La Main Morte". Other than that I do not think either released any other recordings. Many years after the split MacKay was staying at a hotel in the lake district with his wife, when who should be also staying there but Siouxsie and Budgie. After staring many daggers across the dining room, they evidently reconciled their differences. Morris is currently residing in Ireland (Athlone I think) and runs an antique furniture shop Tim Maher ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Apr 2000 09:24:58 +0100 From: "Mark McQuitty" Subject: Some great bands... Wow, there have been some great bands mentioned on this list lately. I must add a shout for the ones that stand out for me. 23 Skidoo's 7 Songs is one of my all time fave albums, awesome. I'm definitely having the CD re-issue and I'd recommend it to all. TWP supporting NIN at bham - I so agree they were superb that night. I didn't even stay for NIN, we went straight out to a nearby pub and raved about the Wolfies. I miss 'em. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 29 Apr 2000 13:37:18 -0700 From: "Paul Pietromonaco" Subject: Re: speaking of the banshees... > Then McGeogh joinged permanently. Can I just give a big shout for Chairs Missing? Chicago has been musically depressing lately and now there are a bizzillion great shows coming in the next couple weeks, I'm going broke. Well, how did I start listening to Wire? I dunno, back when I was even younger I liked Fugazi and Urge Overkill, and Nirvana...so I got interested in the history of where that music was coming from. You could say I wanted to know where contemporary "punk" music got it's influence from, I found it in late 70's England and New York (well, can't ignore good old 1980's Midwest USA...yay for Big Black, Husker Du etc). Got tired of what I heard on the radio. All the stations in my hometown that were supposedly playing "alternative" rock (which a lot of times consisited of Bush, Jewel, and Matchbox 20...????....) then turned to top 40 and I was at a loss of what to do with my radio.
