Wire was introduced to me, oh, 10 years ago in the form of a lent copy of Chairs Missing and IBTABA. So naturally, these are my favorite albums, although lately I've become re-enamoured with Document and Eyewitness, especially the rowdy crowd parts, which I think are hilarious. Etc... I heard that Wire was touring again, and heard that they were coming to my domain of Boston, MA, Gotobed and all. Is this true? I'm a little out of the loop and would appreciate anything anyone can tell me that would make me loopier. Someone had kindly posted some info re Metro and its surrounding neighborhood a while back - I can't seem to find it, though, so if someone could fill me in that'd be great. I'm particularly curious re parking...whether it's doable or should I can it & take the bus... Also, it's probably not too soon to start talking about getting together for drinks etc. before the show, no? - --Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/reviews.html ::playing around with the decentered self is all fun and games ::until somebody loses an I. ------------------------------ Date: 27 Mar 2000 00:25:30 -0600 From: Jack Steinmann Subject: re: Chicago Wire To procure my ticket I drove to the Metro a few days ago -- it's at 3730 North Clark Street, near Wrigley Field -- and I have a couple observations: 1) The show doesn't start until 10 PM. Yes, that's right, 10 PM. 2) The ticket says "SEAM" in small caps underneath "WIRE" -- Seam is the support act? 3) I would not wish to wait for a bus by the time this show ends, sometime in the AM. I'm sure the neighborhood is just fine, but... I wouldn't want to linger. 4) I parked on the street, at a meter, twenty feet from the front door -- but I got lucky. Jack PS My ticket also says "THIS BUD'S FOR YOU."
