I traveled to Orlando to see Bauhaus last year and am very happy to have not missed such an amazing opportunity. Can anyone give me some info on the 9:30 club in DC? How's the sound? What size venue is it? How about aesthetics? Also, is it under 21? Gotta know, as the love of my life has a couple more months before she completes her 21st trip round the sun. And, as they say: "Up to the sun shall go..." Since Wire has made the inexcusable mistake of leaving Minneapolis off the tour, I'll be making the trip. One question: can I assume that I can catch a cab outside after the show? Or, alternatively, can one walk a few blocks in the neighborhood at that hour? The Metro is in Wrigleyville, which is a very popular area, and you can pretty much find something to do or get a cab anytime. If not, I'll give you a ride. I live in Chicago and just found out about the Wire tour myself...I just signed on to this list in order to see what's up. I've been a totally obsessed Wire fan for the last ten years, owning something ridiculous like 100 Wire CDs, and being twenty-five I've never even considered that I'd get to see them, so this is really going to be something amazing. I swear, my brain will overload the second I see them all on stage. The members of this band have occupied so much of my time and provided such an inordinate amount of my life's artistic inspiration that it's going to be a near-religious experience, and frankly the thought is almost frightening. I feel like taking a couple weeks off and following them across the country, or at least making the trip to the East Coast and catching the shows over there. I know I'm probably sounding ridiculous to most of you, but, hell, this is WIRE!!! See you at the show, John ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 03:34:36 EST From: CHRISWIRE@aol.com Subject: Re: FW: A Chicago Drill John, you will not be disappointed! I'm not very good at math but something doesn't seem quite right here. I would very much like to hear about the 80-something Wire CD's which I don't have. Please explain. giluz ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V3 #66 ******************************
