Spizz Energi was the 1979 name for Spizz. In 1980, it changed to Athletico Spizz 80. I think the name change was an annual event and if my memory serves me correctly, previous names were Spizz 77 (1977) and Spizz Oil (1978). I can't remember any subsequent name changes and at some point it reverted to Spizz Energi. - -----Original Message----- From: Solandra To: idealcopy@smoe.org Date: 09 January 2000 03:08 Subject: Fw: spizzenergi > > >Is there any connection between Spizzenergi and Athletico Spizz or are they >totally seperate groups? > > >Just curious > >Alex >---------- >> From: tube disaster >> To: idealcopy@smoe.org >> Subject: Re: spizzenergi >> Date: Thursday, 6 January 2000 9:22 >> >> >> >...not to stray off mailing list topics too far , but "Athletico Spizz" >> >"Do a runner" is one of the best LPs of the 80's IMHO >> >> >> Dunno about that, but it's certainly pretty good ... I don't know about the others, but when it comes to Shriekback you are just plain wrong. At times, Wire descended, imho, to lots of artful pretentiousness, or art-wank, as I prefer to think of it, as a quick listen to the "bonus tracks" on 154 shows me. >Killing Joke had their moments early on, SM had about one and a half decent >albums and Shriekback were just plain dull. > >Get yer coat!!! Get a grip! Shriekback DULL?? What drugs were you on? Shreikback were tribal and hypnotic. The songs that didn't rock or groove were poetic and quite moving. Comparing them in this way to Wire is like comparing fire and ice. Given a choice of giving up one band's output or the other's would be an impossible choice for me. They are both essential. >From: "Solandra" >Subject: Fw: More Off Topic Rants - Simple Minds and Shriekback > >Did Shriekback produce a track in the '80s with a lyric "Watch them shoot >another one,Watch them shoot another one,Watch them shoot another >one.....".I'm not sure who the artist was but it sounded from what I >remember rather Wire-like (154 era through to IBTABA). I know of no such Shriekback song. I used to have a lyrics page bookmarked, but it must have been on another computer. Can't find it now. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000 9:51:55 +0100 From: paul.rabjohn@ssab.com Subject: Re[4]: RFH ah , i listed them like that but its not supposed to be in any order. just 10 equals i think.p ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: Re[2]: RFH Author: MIME:MarkBursa@aol.com at INTERNET Date: 08/01/2000 01:51 Paul, << horses the ramones bollocks pink flag the clash another music a pere ubu one i'm stranded damned damned damned (i think) >> Has to be an American list!! No Brit list wouldn't have the PIstols and the Clash at 1 and 2! Good to see the Saaints in there - and the Ubu one would have been The Modern Dance, which is an outstanding record, thought hardly "punk".
