(For the record, WMO titles are not currently (or forseeably) distributed into Record shops in the US. They are only available from http://wiremailorder.com/ ) If Wire do get "control" of their catalog, there is a theory that it should NOT be available in record shops at all, and only available direct - thru Wire Mail Order (sic) or similar. This is a nod to Discipline and the "Collectors Club" (what ever happened to that?) but also very forward thinking. With catalog approaching 10-20 years old, the paradigm seems to be build it and they will come, than put it out there and wait. what does the list think of that? c > >The only time I see wire at Virgin is a couple of years back for the first >four. I think anything that (a) makes Wire et al. recordings available while (b) keeping down expenses for those involved is unequivocally a good thing. The idea is to make the reocrdings available again w/o bankrupting anyone. So if limited, online, even on-demand-only pressings are the way to go, great. Unfortunately, perhaps, Wire were/are never likely to storm the charts. If this were to happen, one possibility might be a subscription approach: that is, interested parties pay *in advance* for whichever CDs they want. - --Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/reviews.html ::When the only tool you have is an interociter, you tend to treat ::everything as if it were a fourth-order nanodimensional sub-quantum ::temporo-spatial anomaly. __Crow T.
