Would you like QuickTime conversions of these clips? I can do 'em if > you'd like... Versions of these clips in QuickTime or MPEG formats would be greatly appreciated! Remember the world does not run on MS-Windows, and these proprietary codecs are not available for those of us using Linux (like me) or MacOS (like lots of my friends). Posting URL's where one can get the codecs is fine, for Windows users, but it's even better to use video formats which don't require this. Formats and protocols which only work on MS-Windows must die! Thanks! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 13:36:03 +0100 From: William Fellows-Jensen Subject: Instant Shed vol. 1 I was recently in London (actually a trip booked for the postponed Wire-show at the RFH) picking up lots of vinyl & CD-material. I stumbled upon Bruce's Instant Shed vol. 1 (Bi Yo Yo / Byo (Sachet)) on Sup Pop and bought it. But it is sealed and I was wondering if any of you list-members have the tracks in some form so I could have a copy? That would save me opening the sealed silvery plastic thing round the 7". Let me know off list at e-mail address: wfj.fsk@post.tele.dk All the best, William ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 11:23:34 -0800 From: "Paul Pietromonaco" Subject: Re: wire video (the world does not run on MS-WIN) > Versions of these clips in QuickTime or MPEG formats would be greatly > appreciated! A little known fact about QuickTime is that it's codec and file format independent. QuickTime can play back .AVI files. Now, this codec is probably a little *too* weird for MacOS. But, Intel Indeo 5 works great on the Mac - it's how I send high quality video clips to my brother, who is a total Mac head. As far as Linux is concerned, you're on your own though. Since the file sizes ended up being about the same size as the AVI files, and Mike's got some space limitations, I've placed 'em on my own internal server. So, surf to: http://63.225.173.84/wire and, give 'em a try. -Paul ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Nov 1999 17:03:25 EST From: CHRISWIRE@aol.com Subject: Re: Magazine et al. and now XTC I have to admit GO2 by XTC is a great record but try listening to the vinyl copy at 33 rpm.It is terrific! And play it loud!
