Pieta la piccola sounds not bad... I think Pieta long version was only on the vinyl. All the British Mute CD singles were 3 inch. The Silk Skin Paws one comes in a different sleeve to the US version too. It comes in a cardboard sleeve with holes in it to slip into your filofax. No, I've no idea why. Because John McRobbie, Mute's product manager at the time, had a habit of coming up with these bright ideas and the filofax was 'the thing' at the time. I think they did the same thing with a Depeche Mode CD ("Everything Counts" live version if my memory serves me). I thought it was a dodgy yuppie idea myself! j - --IMA.Boundary.0488958390 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: cc:Mail note part Received: from chmls05.mediaone.net ([24.128.1.70]) by vmailntwks10.trinite.co.uk with SMTP (IMA Internet Exchange 3.12) id 00180055; Tue, 28 Sep 1999 21:13:41 +0100 Received: from smoe.org (jane.smoe.org [24.30.216.55]) by chmls05.mediaone.net (8.8.7/8.8.7) with ESMTP id QAA05294; Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:11:05 -0400 (EDT) Received: from localhost (daemon@localhost) by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/listq-jane) with SMTP id QAA28376; Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:07:37 -0400 (EDT) Received: by smoe.org (bulk_mailer v1.10); Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:07:37 -0400 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/listq-jane) id QAA28349 for idealcopy-outgoing; Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:06:39 -0400 (EDT) Received: from tdcre.com ([208.142.129.161]) by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/daemon-mode-jane) with SMTP id QAA28340 for ; Tue, 28 Sep 1999 16:06:19 -0400 (EDT) Received: from tdcex01.thedoctors.com by tdcre.com via smtpd (for jane.smoe.org [24.30.216.55]) with SMTP; 28 Sep 1999 20:25:09 UT Received: (private information removed) Message-ID: <597243CE9E51D211B3140001FA16C7F3C5B30F@tdcex01.thedoctors.com> From: "Wilson, Chad" To: "'idealcopy@smoe.org'" Subject: RE: Kidney Bingos Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1999 13:06:33 -0700 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.0.1460.8) Content-Type: text/plain Sender: owner-idealcopy@smoe.org Precedence: bulk - --IMA.Boundary.0488958390-- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Sep 1999 10:15:48 -0400 From: Matt Hawes Subject: RE: idealcopy-digest V2 #184 Does Colin and crew ever play in the US? In the instance of Silk Skin Paws CD single UK version it comes in a card only sleeve ie no plastic. Re: the earlier mail re: In Vivo there were a number of 12 versions made of this track - a few of them only appeared on promo vinyl in Mute House Sleeves. I'm not at home at the moment but I'll get back later in the week with a rundown of just what CD singles I do have and the differing versions of In Vivo. I'm sure I have the promo and the normal 12 because I used to work for Rough Trade Distribution who distributed Mute in the UK until it went bust (Rough Trade that is) in 1991. Top rarity I do have from those days is a box set of all the Wire Mute output with press stuff in it (ie photocopies of interviews from Brit music papers). I think there were only about 10 of these done for Rough Trade reps when they were selling IBTABA to shops. They aren't anything too special ie nothing unreleased and the box is just black with a Wire sticker on the front. But I don't think a lot of people realise that these rarities exist. Now how's that for trainspotting? I'll go and get my anorak then..... Yes, they are only available in this release, but no, it's not worth buying unless you need everything by Eno (or just don't have "Drop" but were planning to buy it anyway).
