There are three ticket prices: £14, £16, £18, depending on where you sit. Having seen 2K from a precarious position in a South Bank venue, I would very much recommend that you go for the more expensive tickets if you can afford them. (3 paragraphs saying they were pretty good) ...the main surprise of the night was the choice of cover versions. one was trio's da da da. the other was the closing number. it long ago became a truism that elastica owe a lot to wire's pink flag album , but tonight they came clean and gave a brisk dusting down to their absurdist anthem 12XU. the proof of the pudding will be in that eventual 2nd album but on tonights brief but pithy showing there's no fear that elastica will go the way of the stone roses. well 12xu in the guardian can't be all bad i suppose. maybe they'll stick it on the album to top up wire's collection of elastica-generated royalties. or not.p ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1999 09:08:41 -0700 From: Obie Sanders Subject: Re: Wire...reforming. Graham Lewis Just finished listening to both Hox "It-Ness" and Ocsid "In Between", the two latest releases from Graham on Origin. Hox is a collaboration with Andreas Karperyd of Omala fame. Ocsid was originally recorded with J-L Huhta and CM von Hausswolff. I don't want to pigeon hole either, because they're hard to define. They definately come from the same regions as the He Said Omala album. Hox is a more "vocal/song" affair, while Ocsid is more instrumental in approach (and looks like a Touch releases(!)). But the lines aren't that distinct and both are, as I believe Kevin best remarked, "harder" than the He Said Omala releases. Both further the notion that Graham is perhaps the most talented member of Wire. I'll post some samples up to the web site this weekend. Also, Colin distributed some copies of the new/old Immersion album, "Low Impact". Very subtle and beatless. charles (in an unofficial capacity) wmo@interserv.com http://wiremailorder.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Aug 1999 9:54:17 +0100 From: paul.rabjohn@ssab.com Subject: Re: festival hall maybe a 12xu (or 12drillu) is irresistable if elastica are going to start wheeling it out too.. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: festival hall Author: MIME:andyandsheri@cwcom.net at INTERNET Date: 25/08/1999 23:34 oct 30 i'll be there. will they play 12XU?
