Craig. i'll dig out the volume 2 one if nobody else comes up with this. from memory it had the following ; wir ; so and slow 2 videos by fortran 5 (guess who mute were pushing hard at the time) erasure ; "star" assembly ; "never never" one by nitzer ebb (camp bloke rolls around in puddle) barry adamson ; "these boots were made for walking" one by miranda sex garden maybe one or 2 more its got some good link pieces where they show you every mute release one by one (single and album) and destroy the sleeves in different ways. if anyone would like to swop a pal copy of this for the other volume (or anything else interesting) i could oblige. and while we're on the subject , has anyone got any half decent video footage of reading festival or any other 80's gigs? i looked at the mute website and all the bruce albums seemed to be there on cd/vinyl , i bought "shivering man". they were advertising an ab ovo mix 12" pic disc ; i wasn't sure what that was. they didn't seem to be selling a "normal" ab ovo cd.p ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Aug 1999 08:43:23 -0400 From: "charles / wmo" Subject: Re: idealcopy-digest V2 #155 >Subject: mute bank > >just had a look at the mute web page (www.mutelibtech.com) its amazing how much stuff is still >available Mute has the policy of NEVER deleting any of their catalog. I'm having trouble finding more info, such as track listings, though I've tried Mute's site and ye olde Amazon (as well as the Wire Page discog). It's a nice enough record; worth getting if you like Second Toughest and Beaucoup, though not as good as those (which I like quite a bit), IMO - it's more "rock"-ish, with more vocals... I always felt it had a touch of late New Order or Hooky's Revenge thing... I remember seeing that '89 record way back when, with a cowboy in shades on the cover... Was interesting to hear them come back in the 90s with such a different sound. Highlights for me include Or So It Seems (Samplespotting: Alan Wilder used a repeating sequence from this quite a bit in his first Recoil project, Hydrology/1+2) and The First Person, a re-version of Dome's Linasixup.
