What are you supposed to do? Play Reno? It's a nice 36 hours from Chicago to San Francisco, and unfortunately, most small tours (which Colin and Malka pretty much qualify for) don't have the budget to spend two days on the road without any sort of income. And for some odd reason, shows in LA always seem to suck. Seattle and Portland are good, but it's another 14 hours from SF to Portland. Which is why most bands tend to do either "West Coast" tours or "Everything Else" tours... - -ned ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 09:43:21 -0700 From: "halsted : Nonsensacles" Subject: Colin + Malka in SF... I know that Great American Music Hall in San Francisco is normally looking for acts to play there. When I went there a couple of weeks ago to see Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, they were handing out cards asking who'd you like to play there. Their phone number is 415-885-0750 (I believe you press 2 for booking) and the fax number is 415-885-5452. Then, I'm sure there would need to be a radio station to support it. KUSF's phone number is 415-386-5873 (business office). Maybe Live 105 would be interested but I doubt it. They're phone number (business office) is 415-512-1053 and the promotions fax is 415-777-2284. Is there anything we could do to help make a San Francisco show happen? ================ - -Michael Halsted kbmh@pacbell.net halsted@ilm.com- ================ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jul 1999 09:46:28 -0700 From: Brian Subject: Re: happy, chirpy initial post Atlanta + Washington or How ComeNo West Coast? Ned, If you know anyone who has toured that route as I do it is always Atlanta, Austin and then on to Ca., of course there is always southbest airlines. God am I going to have to fly to Atlanta just see them ? professor ned wrote: > >I agree IMMENSELY...no west coast plans?
