I think that's the way some of these search engines are taught > to think. Most of them work on the following principle: Person A likes Band 1, Band 2, Band 3 Person B likes Band 2, Band 3, Band 4 Person C likes Band 1, Band 2, Band 4 Person D likes Band 3, Band 4, Band 5 etc. So if you say like Band 1, Band 2 and Band 4 have one hit each (based on the fact that one other recommender of 1 liked the other two bands). If you like Band 2, Band 1 will be recommended fairly highly, since two other folks liked it; smae w/Band 3 and Band 4 (two common votes each). I think this makes sense - corrections & clarifications are good. - --Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/reviews.html ::a squid eating dough in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous...got me? __Captain Beefheart__ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Feb 1999 20:09:38 -0800 From: Brian Subject: Re: Getting advice from a salesperson At least someone can quote Captain Beefheart.
