They used to be broad churches, especially the NME. But now the music press is much more stratified. So I guess if you want to see reviews of swim~ product, you've got to read dance oriented mags. But all is not doom and gloom. The new Silo LP (on swim~) got a review in The Sunday Times a few weeks back. Also, The Wire magazine has reviewed swim~ product over the last few years, although I think "My Pet Fish" passed them by. I tried to order "My Pet Fish" from a small independent (UK) retailer last year, but he couldn't find it on his database. Was this because The Man doesn't want us to listen to Malka, or because swim~ haven't got their act together? WMO issues seem easier to get hold of than swim~; as for He Said/Omala, neither hide nor hair. I was heartened to see The Passage get a mention on the list recently. Is any of their stuff available on CD? ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V2 #36 ******************************
