i managed to see wir(e) 3 times late 80's/ early 90's but sadly never first time around (77-79). i got into music in punk days , my first gigs were in 79 but i never got to hear of wire playing where i was (quite near to london but when you're 14 with no money or transport 30 miles is a long way..........). i was really frustrated to see in kevin's book that they played aylesbury friars in early 79 , that was a regular haunt of mine by late 79 and one of my all time fave venues. but it was not to be. i was just wondering if any of you lot did see wire in that era and could pass on some recollections , i'd be fascinated with some reports...........

ps1 ; in case you're wondering what i did get to see, my first 3 gigs were the clash/members then sioxsie/the cure then buzzcocks/joy division. strange i never seem to get to see an act like joy division as a support band these days.

ps2 ; i got sold a set of photos at a record fair of a gig in middlesborough (allegedly) , with mike thorne on keyboards. looks good , i thought maybe it'd be that line-up on uri's video.but no.
