So here are the real, 100% accurate future predictions for Wire and related stuff from my trusty 8-ball. 1. Wire will reform in 1999 and perform a live version of "Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini" on Top of the Pops. The single will then hit number 1 in both the USA and UK. My reply is no. 2. Wire will reform for another "last ever one off gig" before the year 2000. It is certain. 3. At this one off gig they will perform a four hour version of Drill using only copies of the Financial Times and used matchsticks. Most likely. 4. Robert will resurrect his music career, touring as Wire with three new members from various burned out punk bands (such as Magazine, Stranglers, Clash, etc). It is decidedly so. 5. Graham will use the same name for more than two consecutive projects Without a doubt. 6. So will Colin and Malka You may rely on it. 7. The Ex-lion Tamers will tour performing "The First Letter". They will rename themselves The Ex-Cows on the Ice Cannot predict now. 8. Bruce Gilbert will give up experimental noise and record an album of 60s rock covers. Outlook good. 9. Daniel Miller will force Wire to reform for a collaborative project. This project will be called "Remu Weti" My reply is no. 10. Mute will release a Wire video compilation in 1999, inexplicably leaving off "Eardrum Buzz" Cannot predict now. 11. In February 1999 "Outdoor Miner" will re-enter the UK charts at number 39 for a single week. Without a doubt. 12. 1999 will see the Wire mailing list being taken over by ewoks and used for their cunning plans for world domination. It is decidedly so. 13. Colin will have a severe change of plans and sign the Spice Girls to Swim~ Records. As I see it yes. 14. Bruce, Graham and Robert will then pour a bucket of cold water over his head to bring him back to his senses. Yes definitely. 15. Wire will then reform. Posh Spice will sing backing vocals. Signs point to yes. 16. It can't be true can it? Reply hazy - try again. So now you know the whole shocking story about Wire, Colin, Swim~, Bruce and Graham for the next couple of years. Truth is surely stranger than fiction ... ;) Best, Craig. == - ---------------------------- Craig Grannell-------------- www: SNUB.COMMUNICATIONS - http://www.snub.dircon.co.uk Wireviews - http://www.snub.dircon.co.uk/wirehome.html - ---------------------------- cngrannell@yahoo.com ------- "Creativity is the highest civilising faculty - Ben Okri" - --------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
