Anyone with any queries, comments, orders etc should getb them in now before these dates, otherwise they won't be answered, despatched or thrown in the bin!! It did cost him substantial money to get it "professionally" edited. Thus the reason why he's charging what he does. So it seems that Uri is hanging on to that tape for dear life. As I haven't seen the video, I can't make any recommendation on it. Wire Mail Order can not distribute it since it is "grey market" goods. But I for one would like to see something like this available to Wire fans at large and would be happy to "notify" the masses of its existance! charles wmo ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 03 Dec 1998 19:53:50 -0800 From: Uri Baran Subject: Re: Uri's Video I'm not hanging onto it for dear life, no one has yet made a serious suggestion, just some 'wouldn't it be nice's' Uri charles / wmo wrote: > > You know all these points were raised to Uri; about having a US distributor > to handle the currency problem, etc... I could set the digest to wait till we have x number of KB of message text... The only other mail list that I sub to (Smelly Tongues [The Residents]) operates in this way. A digest is sent out at 30KB. It seems to work well for them. I think 30KB might be a little on the large side though, as Smelly Tongues gets some VERY long submissions and reaches this limit every 3 or 4 days. My only problem at the moment is that there is little point subscribing to a digest version if we get one every day with just one item in it! The reason I choose to subscribe to the digest version was so that this didn't happen. And even when they were (So and Slow it Grows) the use of effects and imagery ensured the results were always interesting. 'Kidney Bingos' has the most stars I've ever seen in a music video and 'Ahead' is a wonderfully brooding claustrophobic piece. And then there's 'B'. God knows what Colin & the gang were on when this video was conceived but it is like some kind of real life cartoon. My expectations are rising more by the minute! I want my copy now! Paul K.W. PS. Playable on any reasonably newish computer anywhere in the world. Each one would probably take up 30MB but hey, it would be free! (I do have the correct card in my machine to do this, but no copy of the video, alas....!) /joe ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Dec 1998 15:51:48 -0800 From: "charles / wmo" Subject: Re: idealcopy-digest V1 #172 Nice (albeit belated) review of Wire "Coatings" at the following URL.
