For those who want to know the newest of the UK 70s reissues have these tracks as extras: PINK FLAG - Dot Dash, Options R CHAIRS MISSING - Outdoor Miner(full), Question of Degree, Former Airline 154 - Song 1, Get Down, Let's Panic Later, Small Electric Piece, Go Ahead. The Japanese versions also have chunks of Behind the Curtain. As far as I know this is still easy enough to get from wmo (wiremailorder.com) and you can certainly get it here in the UK. Behind the Curtain is currently listed. You sometimes have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. I would like to encourage everyone here in the States to buy any new Wire material (I realise cut-outs and used material are a different matter--I assume few of us are rich) from WMO. Without their service, most Wire material (especially the solo things) would be very difficult, if not impossible, to find in the US. I know it sounds cliche, but I really couldn't choose not only one of the above over the others, but, truly, any over any other one! The variety in all wire-related material is one of my favorite aspects of it all. And all the categories have so many sheer gems! included therein. But I am still particularly fond of Ideal Copy, perhaps because it is the first Wire I heard back in 86 or whatever it was, when I was beginning to seek out more interesting musics in hi-skool. (I'm 29) MTV is not a favored entity of mine, but I do have its "120 minutes" show to thank for introducing me to Wire back then, via the Ahead video. These are included on my Restless cassette version too. I think maybe when they began making CDs of this stuff in the 80s, there was not as much time capacity on a CD as there is now, so more extras are being included these days. ? - -- _ _ _ Thom Heileson //)) //^~ heileson@u.washington.edu ((// // http://weber.u.washington.edu/~heileson/index.html Center for Advanced Research Technology in the Arts and Humanities [CARTAH] 206.543.4218 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Jul 1998 20:37:20 -0600 From: Matthew Turner Subject: wire live Did anyone on this list see WIRE live in the "154" era in particular or any of the first three albums? ... care to recount the experience? set list? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Jul 1998 21:48:24 -0400 From: Creaig Dunton Subject: Re: In Vivo Thom Heileson wrote: > I have a boxed-set edition of Document & Eyewitness which includes a - > you guessed it - CD3 of In Vivo, as well as a CD3 of something else from > that period... if you count this a CD release... The In Vivo CD3's got 7" and 12" mixes of it, the 12" mix of "Illuminated" and a live version of "Finest Drops". Isn't the "regular" version of "In Vivo" the one on _IBTABA_? I know that and the 7" version are the two I prefer... - -- Creaig D http://2fmp.hypermart.net -> 2nd Floor Mafia Productions http://2fmp.hypermart.net/mypage/ -> My Page http://fpc.hypermart.net -> False Prophet Campaign ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V1 #68 ******************************
