These tapes went under the title "Exhibit 1" and "Exhibit 2". The first is wireless, but the second tape contains the "So And Slow It Grows" video. The two tapes are of additional interest to the Wire enthusiast, as most of the videos are directed by Angela Conway. I don't know whether the videos are currently available. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 11:56:27 EDT From: CGerman Subject: Re: SWELL MAPS In a message dated 98-05-02 04:38:00 EDT, you write: << MIDGET SUBS off TYRANNY is one of the best tracks off of their debut album A TRIP TO MARINEVILLE along with classics such as SPITFIRE PARADE. >> Also, check out Jowe Head/ "pincer movement"... the classic tracks "cakeshop girl" and "flying to switzerland". Jowe Head was in Swell Maps. Early Wire era and early Wire style... sorta. Hard to say who could have influenced who, or if they were even aware of each other. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 13:47:08 -0400 (EDT) From: "IBRAHIM BOZAI" Subject: Newmanisms Issue #11 (the latest) is the first to feature Colin. Pretty funny. DJ Spooky's on the cover. You should be able to find a copy at any big city Tower store. If not, then you can probably order a copy directly for 5 bucks. iemag@earthlink.net www.iemag.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 May 1998 07:14:49 +0100 From: "Mark McQuitty" Subject: WMO Does anyone know who is behind the WMO operation? I was just thinking what a wonderful job those guys are doing. They deserve some recognition. Has anyone been to the Wire exhibition yet? ------------------------------ End of idealcopy-digest V1 #44 ******************************
