Hi there y'all... I'm new to the list and have a question to ask everyone... I just read on Origin's homepage that the He Said Omala remix CD is now out. I'm having terrible difficulty finding recent Lewis-related recordings in Japan where I reside. Are there any net mail-order houses that you recommend? I know the obvious answer is WMO, but I'd like to order on-line... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Grass doesn't grow on busy streets. -Edvard Graham Lewis * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Yoshi Matsumoto email: liminal@st.rim.or.jp web: http://www.at-m.or.jp/~liminal * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 11:28:58 -0500 (EST) From: Andrew N Westmeyer Subject: Re: Wire covers Excerpts from mail: 23-Mar-98 Re: Wire covers by Miles Goosens@mindspring > >Lush - Outdoor Miner > > Thought Lush tackled "Mannequin," not "Outdoor Miner." You're both right! Err... You're right twice. Lush did "Mannequin" on Whore, but did "Outdoor Miner" on their rare "For Love" single (from their album Spooky). > Who did the techno mix of "So and Slow It Grows"? If anyone knows, please tell me! The Soft Boys covered mannequin in one of their re-union concerts, but it's doubtful that it was ever recorded. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Mar 1998 09:19:53 +0900 From: Natsuko Sano Subject: Re: Wire covers Excerpts from mail: 24-Mar-98 Re: Wire Covers by Andrew N Westmeyer >You're both right! Lush did "Outdoor Minor" on their "Superblast!" single, not "For Love". Uh oh, this is going to get ugly... :) I checked out the Lush discography (http://www.evo.org/html/interview/Lush.discography.v4.html). "Outdoor Miner" is on the Japanese but not the US "Superblast!" single. It's also on the "For Love" single. So I guess we're both right! Incidentally, thanks to those who informed me about more cover versions. It seems like every time I get a new Wire CD, I find out about 2 more which I don't have. I've got over 100 Wire CD's (seriously!), but these guys output stuff way too fast for me!
