It took quiete a few listens, about 6, for it to sink in. Now I love it. One reviewer said it lacked melody!!!! Hardly. The songs play in my head. It is a very personal album. I am not surprised by that. Carly's experiences this last few years are the type that change people, that make people look at themselves and their lives. Hence we have TBT. bw colin ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2000 06:55:07 -0600 From: "Manning, Thomas (Tom)" Subject: RE: TBT I think the reason that TBT is not getting any radio play is for the same reason that we all seem to agree on...that is it takes several "listens" before you realize how good the CD is. In radio today, you need a catchy beat and a record company thats willing to pour lots of money into promoting your CD. I'm not too worried about radio not playing her CD though. A while back someone wrote that Carly is just as famous as she wants to be. I have to agree. If she was struggling or desperate to get recognition for her work she would be working harder to promote the CD. I read the rumor that Carly is planning to do a soundtrack for a Disney movie in 2001. I hope this is true. Given her involvement with so many children's causes it seems like a good fit. Maybe she will be doing a takeoff of her previously released "Old Mother Hubbard"....she could call it "So Many Kids" :-) take care, tom > ---------- > From: SOTO ARES Gustavo[SMTP:GSOTOARES@CHRU-LILLE.FR] > Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2000 1:53 AM > To: 'hotcakes@smoe.org' > Subject: TBT > > Hello everybody, > I don't hear you at all, I think you must be on holidays as I was the last > fifteen days. > I would like to review TBT again, now that i have listened a lot, this > fantastic CD. > In fact, after the first listening I told you that i was dissappointed > because, and it's true, it's a no-easy listening CD. > On holidays, i've listened TBT every night.
