On this first listen i love Big Dumb Guy. I like Carly when she is rocking. It also made me smile toward the end. This album is different, tho more like the old Carly. Reminds me of some tracks off Come Upstairs and Spy. It also seems that this is somewhat autobiographical. Scar and I Forget make me think this. I will have to listen many more times yet to really know what I think. Oh, and the photo on the back of the jewel case is very similar to that on the gatefold of Hotcakes all those years ago! My cd has a big sticker on the front: "HER FIRST CONTEMPORARY POP ALBUM IN 6 YEARS FEATURES 11 NEW SONGS WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY CARLY" well I am glad they weren't written and performed by someone else! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2000 08:28:18 -0600 From: "Manning, Thomas (Tom)" Subject: RE: Got It At Last Colin, So glad you finally got your hands on a copy. After several weeks now of listening, my favorites are: Cross the River I'm Really the Kind The rest of the album is wonderful (except for "In honour of you"). Too bad the album is skyrocketing up the charts, but we can think of ourselves in being in a very exclusive club. > ---------- > From: catman[SMTP:catman@ethericcats.demon.co.uk] > Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 7:58 AM > To: hotcakes@smoe.org > Subject: Got It At Last > > I have only just bought it and listened to it on my way-only heard it once > so far. > On this first listen i love Big Dumb Guy.
