We want a BIG debut on Billboard magazine! :) For what it's worth...it's sales rank is currently number 17 over on Amazon! Right now, my favorites are "Scar" and "Our Affair" - although I really love the groove to "So Many Stars" and the anger of "We Your Dearest Friends" -- I've awaited this release for what seems like an eternity, and I'm not disappointed. "Scar" may be the best thing she's ever written. As far as radio goes, I'd like to hear "Our Affair" as the single, although it seems "So Many Stars" is the first single, depsite Billboard's mistake that it would be "Big Dumb Guy" The only one that hasn't grabbed me at all is "In Honor Of You" - George died in 1939, so her lyric about 50 years ago freaks me out a little. And the lyric to "Embraceable You" didn't include "I want my arms AROUND you" but "I want my arms ABOUT you." I like "Big Dumb Guy" and think it is the most catchy of all, but needs some editing. It might be even good on the dance floor, other than that "Our affair" is the most commercial. I think, " We your dearest friends" is about the AOL Board. Jack, Jodie, Donnie and Sue and Karen, but I think they have all been thrown off AOL anyway. But they will hear the song and know it is about them. Brian At Tue, 16 May 100 19:13:06 +0000, you wrote: > >This will change often I imagine. Still, I have waited 5 1/2yrs so another couple of weeks won't hurt! So tell me, is this cd as 'bare' as one would expect? i.e more like Anticipation than the big prodcution numbers on LNS and SG adn CAA? from the clips I have just about been able to hear, it doesn't sound like it is just her and guitar/piano. I'd love to hear her doing work with just the guitar again. Not that i don't like the big production numbers-I love them too. As an aside, I have a amp that gives you different types of sound-like pro logic, stadium, rock concert etc. anyway, one of the dogs walked on the remote which was on the floor and changed the sound to 'disco' whlist carly was in the cd player. It sounds really good! Yes, I can hear you thinking how but it really does. It brings her voice right to the front and none of the music is lost. In fact, on some carly tracks, the music almost over rides her voice and this way of playback prevents that. bw colin ------------------------------ End of hotcakes-digest V3 #5 ****************************
