I'd like to say how much i've liked it. She is so natural and so kind !! She sings very well. I don't like very much some of the songs from Letters Never Send and her choice for the show was special: it was very very acoustic. I think is nomal because of this acoustic sounds and songs were very present at this album but I'd never believed that she could sing "I've got to have you" in concert. Anyway, she was great !!! Have a nice W.E, Gus. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 09:25:00 -0500 From: Jim.Nemeth@infores.com (Jim Nemeth) Subject: RE: Live at Grand Central You're SO lucky, in a way, to have just discovered this concert! I LOVE "Live at Grand Central"! "I've Got To Have You" is my FAVORITE song from this concert, followed closely by "Touched By The Sun". (I would have LOVED to have "I'd Rather It Was You" performed...) :( I'm not totally happy with the choice of songs (WHERE WAS "YOU'RE SO VAIN?!?!?), but she WAS promoting an album, so as usual, it becomes a songs-from-the-new-album/some greatest hits kinda thing, but all-in-all...considering how rare she performs in public, I'll take ANY COMBINATION of songs ANYTIME, if it means she's performing! :) - -----Original Message----- From: SOTO ARES Gustavo at INTERNET-mail Sent: Friday, June 04, 1999 3:21 PM To: "'Carly Simon Email list.'" at INTERNET-MAIL Subject: Live at Grand Central This week I've discovered for the first time the Carly's video at Grand Central. The mention of Carly's Grand Central video prompts me to wonder if their are any Carly Simon unreleased live recordings circulating about I know she rarely performs live, but it would be very rare for there to be no "bootleg" recordings by an artist of her stature and years of recording. Are there any that hotcakes readers know of? - --Dan ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 11:32:18 EDT From: JCamp1361@aol.com Subject: Carly live recordings? I don't know if it is still in print but it was generally available. I am hoping it will be re-released on DVD. Mia was living at the time in Martha's Vineyard and the year was 1978. She wrote in her book that her neighbor Carly Simon occasionally came for a visit. And that makes me wonder. Were they not good friends (I thought they were)? Isn't Carly the godmother of Mia's twins? In Finland the godparents are usually very good friends or relatives of child's parents. Mia's Carly line is very neutral (almost chilly) and there's no mention at all that Carly is the godmother of Mia's twins. Odd, I think. And I also thought that Carly's book Midnight Farm is about Mia's twins or they were at least the inspiration of that book. I don't know anything about Mia Farrow or even if she has twins. ------------------------------ End of hotcakes-digest V2 #75 *****************************
