Hey everyone! What is everyone doing for New Year's Eve? I'm continuing a tradition of getting together with about 30 people for a late supper and fireworks at the home of a couple my husband and I are close to. It is sort of low key, but a pleasant way to bring in the new year. I'm sure some of you have wilder plans! As we have many people from different continents in this group, I would be curious to hear about how some of you celebrate the New Year. Or have the French set the rules for everyone - -- champagne? Anyway, no matter how you celebrate, be safe and well. Has anyone seen a song list for the "NEW" Carly album that is supposed to be coming out next month? Oh, I tell a lie, Coming Around Again was also a hit. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 16:50:21 +0000 From: catman Subject: Re: Party Like it's 1999! When i sopke with arista a couple of weeks ago, they merely said she was working on a new one for 99. No date was given. My guess is January will be too soon as she is still working on it! bw catman Adel Perkins wrote: > Hey everyone! > > What is everyone doing for New Year's Eve? Also bought the boxed set too, tho I had most of them-but not these arrangements and also the new songs. there is supposed to be another Hits out but Tower Virgin nor HMV had it in. So still do not know what the cover is like nor the content. bw catman - -- CARLY SIMON DISCUSSION LIST http://www.ethericcats.demon.co.uk/ethericcats/index.html TANTRA’S/ETHERIC PERSIANS AND HIMALAYANS http://www.ethericcats.demon.co.uk ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 31 Dec 1998 03:29:11 -0500 From: qusar@mindspring.com Subject: Re: Greatest Hits Catman (what a cool jazzy, daddy-o name), I wonder if, when you say there is another album, I wonder if you mean the Best of. . . It includes, "That's the way. . ." and "Mockingbird" (which my mama and I would sing mornings while I was preparing to go to high school -- one of my favorite memories) and "Tranquillo" and other hits like that. Also, I am inclined to agree with you about Arista's pushing _Coming Around Again_. When is it that she signed with them over Elektra? And did you say "Why" was a hit in the U.K.? I don't think it was released here. But I love it. Everytime I was dressing to go out this summer, I would shower and dress to this because it is so upbeat and, well, sexy. And when you are going on the prowl, sexy is what you want, what you want to _feel_ . *giggles* Quentin ------------------------------ End of hotcakes-digest V1 #103 ******************************
