I hope you enjoy this list and feel free to contribute. the excitement seems to have got to me-I now have the flu! Ick! I was listening earlier to Anyone But Me from Spoiled Girl. I love that song-I know Carly didn't write it but her voice on this song is superb. So low-I can't sing it with her! One of those songs where her voice gives me goosebumps. catman - -- Living is the process whereby we create the structures we call meaning. http://www.ethericcats.demon.co.uk Carly Simon Discussion List http://www.ethericcats.demon.co.uk/ethericcats/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Jul 1998 09:28:24 -0400 (EDT) From: Rachel Kramer Bussel Subject: hello Hello to whoever is on this brand new list... As for which Carl albums are essential? Well, I would say all of them! However, Anticipation, Letters Never Sent, Spy are a good start. I have never seen Carly live, tho I have three video's of her. My fav is of her Live at Grand Central. I too think your father's story is funny. I love Carly since I was 10 years of age; now I am 40 and still feel her songs to cause a deep effect on me when I listen, something that happens with only a few groups and/or solo artists. But, if I were a man, like my husband, like your father, you bet I would have done the same, I mean, Carly is wholy lovely, even thou she is not a beauty in a physical only sense, but because she is adorable, one can not help to love her, and when you look at someone with the eyes of love, that one is 100% irrisistible for you. Besides, the lady is very attractive even if you do not know who she is. She had two children, as far as I know, when she was with singer/songwriter partner James Taylor, and they are a girl and a boy. > > Should you like to take a look at these discussion boards I will give you the e-addresses: > > http://www.ziva.com/carly/ http://www.james-taylor.com/carly/ > > My husband and I are going on vacation to the USA, to NYC, Boston, Washington, some Canada (Niagara, Tronto, Quebec) and we will try to visit Martha´s Vineyard because it means a lot to Carly and we love her Video when she performed there. > > See you, Margarita. > > > > > > > > > Hello to whoever is on this brand new list... > > I do like Carly, but I think I only have one album of hers, so I'm going > to query the "experts": what ones are vital? HELLO OUT THERE IN CARLY SIMON LAND....I'M PSYCHED TO BE A PART OF THIS LIST I'M ORIGINALLY FROM BOSTON AND HAVE SPENT MANY A HOT SUMMERS NIGHT ON MARTHA'S VINYARD. WHENEVER I'M THERE I CAN JUST FEEL CARLY'S PRESENCE IN THE AIR. MAYBE THAT'S BECAUSE MVY RADIO PLAYS HER A LOT!! I GOT TO SEE HER HOUSE IN MENEMSHA . IT WAS QUITE INTERESTING THE WAY SHE PAINTED IT WITH MANY DIFFERNET COLORS ON THE OUTSIDE. I HEAR SHE HAS SINCE PUT ON A HUGE ADDITION. A FRIEND OF MINE USED TO DRIVE A UPS TRUCK ON THE ISLAND AND HAS SEEN THE INSIDE. SOOO LUCKY!! MY FAVORITE CS ALBUM IS "LETTERS NEVER SENT" DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAS COME OF HER SON BEN SINGING? HE DID THAT ALL TOO SHORT "TIME WORKS ON ALL THE WILD YOUNG MEN" ON THE ALBUM AND LEFT ME LONGING FOR MORE. HE SOUNDS HAUNTINGLY LIKE HIS FATHER JAMES WHEN HE HOLDS THAT LAST NOTE. I WISH THE SONG COULD HAVE GONE ON LONGER. I READ THAT HE WROTE THE MELODY AND CARLY WROTE THE LYRICS. I WONDER WHY THEY STOPPED IT SO SHORT? ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Jul 1998 22:10:44 +0100 From: catman Subject: Re: follow the music Thanks for the info Denise. That someone named "Colin" is the owner of this list and the biggest Carly fan I know. This should be a great place for Carly fans.
