Hello Trina and Trina fans.  My name is Mark Susskind.  I first heard Trina
Hamlin during the month of April 1996 at the late Cafe Sin-e (shin-AY is only
the pronunciation I've heard), which was located in the East Village of
Manhattan, New York City.  I suppose I could introduce myself further, but I
just completed updating my wwweb site this week, and it has more of an
introduction than what I may have included here.  I hope to hear from you all
soon.

Good to see you on the list (now up to 16 members, as of this slow chilly 
morning).  I had a feeling you'd turn up here sooner rather than later...

A question: since I first saw Trina about a year after you (I was only
ever in Sin-e once, to see RAW Kinder play), I'm curious about what her
earlier shows were like.  Have you seen any changes over that time?  Are
there favorites or standards she used to play that have dropped out of the
set, as "Angel" vanished for a while?  Discuss.  8>

As best as I can remember (and that's not saying much), she played all
original written and co-written songs except for "Angel" and "Summertime".
When I bought Alone (the cassette, not the CD), I believe I recognized all the
songs from her live performances.  It is understandable that she would have to
retire some songs (or at least give them a vacation), because her sets are
usually only 30-45 minutes long.  The only times I have heard her play longer
sets were at the Rising Cafe, where she played two about-50-minute sets, and
the Living Room, where she played one about-70-minute set.

The times I saw her, she always used to play solo.  Then I heard her play a
couple times with Bill Dobrow on percussions.  Now I see her perform with Nini
Camps, Marilyn D'amato, and Pamela Means.  I don't think I ever saw her
perform with Leslie Nuchow (another Marilyn & Friends friend), though.

Oh, pooh.  A guy leaves the house for just a couple of hours and all the
goodies are gone...Marilyn, did anyone get that picture of you all doing
your Trina imitations at the Living Room when she was in France and you
