I miss those days too! Its good to hear from you and glad you are doing well. I'm insanely jealous that you have moved to Maine as it is one of my favorite places in the land (next to Colorado and New Hampshire and Vermont). Where in Maine? Are you still making music yourself? I haven't checked out your site in a while either to be honest with you. Nothing wrong with "moving on" and doing new things, as you say. We all have to grow up eventually, but those days sure were fun, even though I was a little older (even then) than all the other Headliners. I'm turning 34 next week and am engaged and getting married on December 9th. I sure would love to get my fiancee into Emm and all the other great music that I listen to, but she's a talk radio kind of girl (even though she's only 26) and not much for music. Shocking that that would be the kind of girl I'd end up with, but she is wonderful in EVERY other aspect and I'm the luckiest man in the world, even though I don't attend concerts or road trip like I used to. I guess being engaged and owning a house gives you a whole new set of priorities, but it doesn't mean I can't pine for the old days every now and again. I also miss the "music recommendations" -- Michael always had some great ones. He got me into Hey Mercedes and a bunch of other Canadian acts (the list is too long to mention them all, but everytime he posted a Top Ten at the end of the year I usually ended up very into 7 or 8 of the CDs that he mentioned that I probably would have never checked out otherwise). Anyways, good to hear from you, and good luck in Maine! I actually just moved to Maine yesterday from Indianapolis (from Connecticut from New Jersey--phew!) to do photography full-time. I hope to get up to Toronto or Boston or somewhere sometime soon to catch an Emm show. Unfortunately I haven't had the money to get the new album which sucks because I would've loved to hear PVT... oh well. I'll get it sometime soon. Digging the songs I've heard on myspace, though! I am on the east coast in Boston for the time being, but I travel for my job so within the next year I will have lived on the Jersey Shore, Boston, MA, Austin, TX, San Fran, CA, and Hawaii! I'm still doing music (sort of) but its' really difficult with work, although I plan on getting some gigs wherever I am. I miss all you guys (Rob, Jess, James, and the Toronto gang), although i have been fortunate to see some of you through the years here and there. :) The new album is great. It's good to finally hear all the new songs after hearing some of them for the first time during the Living Room Shows I did with Emm. Bummer she's not playing in Boston in October tho. Take care guys! Rob, I am in Portland, Maine, living right downtown and it's awesome. We're just trying to find a building for our studio and stuff, so we're in a temporary apartment now until we figure some things out... but I LOVE it. Well I am going to be 30 in a few short months... ahhhh... I am living the last year of my 20's up, though. :) Hehe. Am quite different now from when everyone last saw me... I have been married 6 years now... Am still doing music when I can, but photography has basically taken over. My album After Silence still sells on cdbaby, though, so that is pretty cool. I'm waiting for the songs to come to me, though... seems it works best that way. Congrats on your engagement! As far as music recommendations, what are you guys listening to these days? I am pretty obsessed w/ John Mayer's new album Continuum... it's pretty perfect. I will follow The Fray anywhere they go. I caught their buzz earlier on and they recorded their album in Bloomington, IN. It was in my cd player for about a year playing non-stop. Mmm. I just got back into KT Tunstall's album, some great stuff on that.... Charlotte Martin has a great new album out and is touring. I'm sure I could think of a lot more... jessica - ------------------------------------------------------------------- www.jessicaweiser.com www.flickr.com/photos/jessicaweiser www.fideliophotography.com -- coming soon Some of us, we're hardly ever here The rest of us, we're born to disappear How do I stop myself from Being just a number How will I hold my head To keep from going under ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Sep 2006 15:34:41 -0500 From: "Michael Keast" Subject: Re: HOT ONE Shows Cancelled My current musical fixations: - -Drive-By Truckers - A Blessing and a Curse (current front-runner for album of the year - I keep telling people they're the best band in the world right now, but not too many people seem to be listening, maybe it's the name :) They're finally coming to Toronto in October, I'm counting the days!) - -Veruca Salt - IV ("The Sun" is at the top of my playlist right now, Louise can still write a great tune!) - -The Appleseed Cast - Peregrine (another criminally underrated band, "Sunlit and Ascending" still gives me goosebumps) - -Embrace - This New Day (if Coldplay, Oasis and U2 had children...well, you get the idea) - -Damone - Out Here All Night (not for everyone, but if you have fond memories of Def Leppard and Motley Crue, you'll love this) - -Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way (one of the few albums my fiancee and I can agree on!) On a heavier note, the new Mastodon and Iron Maiden albums are really good too, in case anyone's interested (Maiden debuted at #2 in Canada, 27 spots higher than the new Sloan, will wonders never cease...) **************************************************************** Mike Keast (mikekeast@email.com) > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jessica Weiser" > To: "Robert Tittel" > Subject: Re: HOT ONE Shows Cancelled > Date: Fri, 29 Sep 2006 14:46:16 -0400 > > > As far as music recommendations, what are you guys listening to these days? > I am pretty obsessed w/ John Mayer's new album Continuum... it's pretty > perfect.
