Sarah's new band is soooo tight and talented -- Emm's old touring drummer buddy Dean Stone was there as well. Definitely much tighter and more polished than the band she had with her when I last saw her in Rochester about two years ago with the Sleanster. Anyway, Sarah's new album still hasn't left my CD player and is probably my favorite CD of 2004 so far. The songs live were even more incredible to hear with a full band. The crowd seemed pretty in tune with Sarah's music -- lots of requests being yelled out, and generous applause for the favorites: Basement Apartment, Coffee Stain, Around this corner, Uniform Grey, but absolute thunderous applause for Lodestar -- they really seemed to dig that one. If she is near your city, go see her at once. Set list: Pendulums The Hideout Almost Greeting Card Aisle Around this corner New Enemy Coffee Stain Dandelions in Bullet holes Dogs and Thunder (solo w/guitar only) Trouble in the fields (Nancy Griffith cover solo) Home Soon (Oh Susanna cover solo) Tether Things to forget Uniform Grey Basement Apartment Took It All 1st Encore: Open Window Lodestar 2nd Encore: Don't get your back up Rob ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V7 #31 **********************************
