I got mine yesterday evening when I got home from work, and it has not left my CD player yet. Pretty mellow, but amazing nonetheless. Just wanted to hear some opinions. "Pendulums" and "Almost" are excellent and probably the most upbeat songs on the disc, "Greeting Card Aisle" reminds of "Uniform Grey" from "You Were Here" a bit, "New Enemy" is awesome, and "Come On Lion" and "Tether" may be two of my new favorites. Nice re-working of "Silver Road" from the "Men With Brooms" soundtrack as well. Good to see Kevin Fox back in the fold for a few tracks as well.... Also, did anyone pick up the new Jonatha Brooke CD "Back In The Circus"? The original songs on there are pretty good, but I was kind of shocked to see so many covers. She covers three songs on the disc, Jame Taylor's "Fire and Rain", The Beach Boys "God Only Knows", and The Alan Parsons Project's "Eye In The Sky". I think "It Matters Now" is my favorite song. The lists have been silent for a while, just thought I'd start some conversation... Anybody else got anything new they are listening to? I agree with Rob that it has been quiet on the list as of late, so am offering my two cents for your perusal. I picked up Jonatha's new album as soon as it came out and have mixed feelings. I, too, was surprised there were three covers on it. I don't really care for "God Only Knows" (Beach Boys), but kind of dig "Eye in the Sky" (Alan Parsons Project). I think my favorite song on it is "Less Than Love is Nothing," co-written by Jonatha and Eric Bazilian (ex-The Hooters). I am still listening to it, hoping it will sink in like "Steady Pull," "10 cent Wings," or "Plumb," but "Plumb" is one of my all-time favorites, so I am not counting on it. We in Gainesville, Florida, were lucky enough to have Vienna Teng stop by last Friday for a free concert. She was great to watch and hear, told some neat stories about the songs and other events, and was simply wonderful to talk to. Check her out if you get a chance. G'ville was also fortunate enough to have Fuel stop by this past Wednesday night. They definitely satisfy my harder side, and were fun to watch. We don't get a lot of music here (once a year they may bring someone big to the University of Florida, but that is usually it), so it was nice to feel like I was back in Chicago, if only for a few days. I hope everyone is doing well and that all you in the north are starting to feel Spring's return.
