Well no Emm cd's this year so I can't call it a great year for music. Although the DVD really is great. The only CD's I bought all year was Matthew Good - Avalanche, The Hip - In Violet Light and Sarah's new album - after glow. I find I still listen primarily to my last years purchases of zero 7 and emms disk. oh almost forgot...absolutley in love with evanescence. October is one the greatest songs I have heard in a long time. I recommend everyone listen to it. happy holidays ===== Marc McRae "You've got to promise not to stop when I say when" - Dave Grohl ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 20:28:14 +0000 From: "Catherine Pan" Subject: Re: top 10 cd's of 2003... Wow... I've been waiting for this survey to begin for quite some time, because I actually have 10+ CDs that I purchased this year! (It's been a phenomenal year for CDs AND concerts!!!) My Top 10 CDs of 2003 DEFINITELY my #1 - Evanescence - Fallen (This is by far THE BEST of the 2003 CDs for me. I can't say enough about this CD. I think it may have been in my car CD player non-stop for an entire month!) Tie for #2. Maroon5 - Songs About Jane (even though it was a 2002 release - I didn't discover them until this year and they really didn't "hit big" until 2003 - I saw them 3 times this year AND met them!! If you don't have this CD... RUN AND GET IT!!) Tie for #2. Matt Nathanson - Beneath These Fireworks (definitely his best CD to date - wonderfully put together!!!) #4. Shaye - The Bridge (I hope they tour the US! Rumor has it Tara will resurface in '04 with a solo album!) #5. Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow (awe-inspiring... as usual) #6. Oval Opus - Red Sky Recovery (I think this was a 2002 release - but I didn't discover it until early 2003 - great group from Cincinnati, Ohio!) #7. Josh Kelley - For the Ride Home (AWESOME discovery in 2003!!! I was able to see him twice.) #8. Dido - Life for Rent (this one grew on me & despite her canceling her Cleveland show, I love the CD!) #9. Vertical Horizon - Go (saw them in concert again this year - awesome!) #10. Howie Day - Stop All the World Now Honorable Mention: - - Chantal Kreviazuk - What If It All Means Something (I almost forgot about this one!!) - - John Mayer - Heavier Things (At first listen, I wasn't impressed so I put it away for a month or so... I've been listening to it more often lately and it's growing on me.) - - Forty Foot Echo - (self-titled) - - Leona Naess - (self-titled) - - Will Hoge - Blackbird on a Lonely Wire - - Marc Broussard - Momentary Setback Looking forward to new CDs and great concerts in 2004... although 2003 is going to be VERY TOUGH to beat!!
