As I like to tell people, they are kinda like what would happen if you took the cowboy junkies, crossed them with the indigo girls and gave them lobotomies. To me, they lacked a certain edgyness that I like in my music and the songs lacked tension (probably why I like Emm so much). Then again, the people I was with loved them. ===== I'm a famous artist. I have an advance of her new self-titled record and it's GORGEOUS. My favorite Leona album yet... really subtle production and lots of piano and cello and nice songs... I hope I get a chance to see her live at some point... Detroit is a bit too far for me to drive, though (Although I could visit a certain TLC if I did go... ;) ) jessica - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- jessica weiser :: singer/songwriter www.jessicaweiser.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Aug 2003 12:13:11 -0500 From: "jessica weiser" Subject: New Holly Palmer album Hey guys! I'm back after a HG hiatus for a few years :) Holly P has a new album coming out later this year on Warner Bros. There are a few clips on her website hollypalmer.com. The single is "Just so you know" which has the EXACT same intro sample thing as Michelle Branch's song "I'd Rather Be In Love" (which was recently used in the trailers for the Mandy Moore film How To Deal)... have no idea if it was intentional or not... There's not a lot on the site yet--news, bio, and a message board and mailing list. jessica - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- jessica weiser :: singer/songwriter www.jessicaweiser.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Aug 2003 15:14:22 EDT From: TrishTLC@aol.com Subject: Re: NEC leona naess yeah visit TLC! I have the advance too Jess and I agree, best Leona CD yet. My favorites are "Calling", "Don't use my broken Heart", "How Sweet" and the last track, i can't remember the title. I am considering going to see Leona play in D-town, I don't anything else to do since I am a loo-hoo-se-her. xo tlc [demime 0.97c removed an attachment of type image/jpeg which had a name of Clouds .jpg] ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 02 Aug 2003 01:32:18 +0000 From: "secret agent kr" Subject: Re: New Holly Palmer album hey little dude thanks for the hot tip!!!!! ive been waiting for this album for 5 years!!! xo kr - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V6 #131 ***********************************
