Not quite as good as the earlier rumored lineup, but still one of the more interesting festival rosters I've seen in a while. Just as I predicted, NYC's K-Rock radio ended up getting to sponsor this thing, even though they hardly play any of these bands. They do play the Beastie Boys once an hour, though. Better is their indie label webpage: http://www.paperbagrecords.com ...and you can listen to a couple songs from their new album here (the first two tracks are from their previous 'Comeback' EP, though): http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/artist.cfm?Band_Id=6298 As for Feist, she only has one album available, her first LP called "Monarch" (her live EP is only available at shows)... However, I believe she's sold out of the original run of the album, so your only bet is to check Canadian record stores to see if they have any left. Oh, and for those asking about last night's Sarah Harmer benefit show, I was stupid enough to not write down the setlist, because I THOUGHT I was taping it - unfortunately, my tape recorder (battered old thing) malfunctioned, and I didn't get ANY of the show. Needless to say, it was a lovely, hushed, PERFECT show - she was solo, played a ton of new songs (all beautiful), and took requests (I asked for old Weeping Tile classic "Good Fortune"). - - Tab. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. That's totally exciting, because it's the best of both worlds for him - Maple is an indie label, but with some cachet, plus they have distribution through Universal, so this just might be that breakout album he's been waiting for... :) He has some Canadian dates, including a Toronto date at the Horseshoe (geez, that'll be packed!), coming up in May, so check out his website for more details. Danny sang two well-chosen covers at the One Big No festival over the weekend - "Jeux Sans Frontiers" and "Imagine". Everyone was just transfixed. I heard a lot of, "Wow... Who IS that?" :-) - - Tab. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2003 22:32:29 +0000 From: "Tab Siddiqui" Subject: (OAC) Sarah Harmer show - any tapers?!
