Supposedly, Dave heard her recent appearance on NPR's "Weekend Edition" and quickly got her on the show. As far as the performance, she performed well despite obvious nerves and some tension in her vibrato. I won't believe that with Emm's credentials, her management can't get her on a nationally televised show in the U.S. A friend of mine, who's the bassist for the band Sugarcult and is incidentally producing my best friend's debut record, had already been on several shows long before they signed with Artemis. In any case, it shouldn't be that difficult for her to get an invite. Lots of independent musicians get a break once in awhile. At the very least, she could get on Kilborn who's booker is a frequent clubber herself around L.A. I wonder what kind of promo packages their sending? In related news, ol' Mraz is on Conan tonight, Kathleen Edwards is on Carson tomorrow, and The Wondermints (L.A.'s legendary power pop band) is on Kilby Friday. ~c NP: Damien Rice - O >>Tiffany wrote: >Hi folks, So, Vienna Teng's upcoming appearance on the Letterman show has got me thinking about the fact that Emm has been in the music biz for a substantial amount of time longer than Vienna and seems to me to have more industry connections, and yet Emm has never scored the national (well, US) exposure that a show like Letterman offers. Maybe Vienna has a particular Letterman connection? Maybe Emm's never tried for that kind of show? Or doesn't want to? Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of both Emm and Vienna (Emm more so since she's been around longer and has more material to be a fan of), but I was curious as to any thoughts or reactions to the matter. xo - Tiffany Yahoo!
