But the show is taped live on Thursdays at 11 pm EST, so the live audience is asked to show up by 10:30. - - Tab. _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Dec 2002 06:43:51 +0000 From: "Tab Siddiqui" Subject: (OAC) Re: GasCD I just want to add my two cents to Laura's mention about the GasCD - this is an incredible project spearheaded by Chris Brown of Toronto duo Chris Brown & Kate Fenner (amazing musicians in their own right with 4 CDs to their name) - Chris came up with the idea after he attended the protests against the Summit of the Americas in Quebec City in summer 2000. He went home to NYC and started calling up all his Canadian and American musician friends, and the result is this amazing double CD, with liner notes by "No Logo" author Naomi Klein and her husband Avi Lewis (ex-host of CBC's "Counterspin"). Proceeds to go the legal defence of the protesters from Quebec City (many of these cases have not yet even gotten to trial!), and other equally important causes as well in the US and Europe (for more details see www.gascd.com). The CD has been out in Canada since last year (it ironically came out on Sept.11, 2001), but it's only hitting the US in a big way right now, so please check it out if you haven't already - it's not only about a worthy cause, but about great music as well (it's a really cohesive yet vastly diverse album with something for all tastes - everyone from Spearhead to Ani D. to Barenaked Ladies and beyond). - - Tab.
