Or more rarely the three gods, Lugh (Lugh Lamhfhada - Lugh Longarm), Nuada (Nuada argat lamh - Nuada of the Silver Hand) and The Dagda (literally, the good god) and sometimes Herne.* James. (Yeah, more than you wanted to know.) *Much of this is a retrospective construct of Robert Graves ("The White Goddess") with a good deal of conjecture accompanying some minor scholarship. P.S. Tara (also Tara Hill) was the ancient seat of the Milesians and later the High Kings and the location of the Lia Fail (stone of Destiny). ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Nov 2002 06:14:34 -0800 (PST) From: "mark'eee" Subject: EC: The Debut The Debut is currently playing in NYC right now in the theater at the bottom of the Times Square Virgin Mega Store... mu - -- U2 on LAUNCH - Exclusive greatest hits videos http://launch.yahoo.com/u2 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Nov 2002 14:00:06 -0500 From: "Rob Tittel" Subject: Re: Case of Tornadoes Great review by Smirky. He couldn't have hit the nail more on the head about the Cleveland show. In spite of all the venue's shortcoming's, Emm played her heart out (as usual). And can I say I just LOVE "Sunnify"??? Say what you will about the Beachland... it is somewhat of a dive, and its not in the best of all Cleveland neighborhoods, but god bless 'em for having the guts to bring 2 artists like Emm and Ari to a town that has no idea who about. I can say at least a few more fans walked out of the venue.... it was a small turnout, but Emm rocked as usual and Ari Hest (whom I'd only heard once before) definitely made an impression on me, with his great original songs (I can say I'll be pre-ordering his new "Story after story" disc) and some excellent covers of Peter Gabriel ("In your eyes") and Jeff Buckley (a beautiful rendition of "Hallelujah"). Great sets by both put the wraps on a nice weekend.... got to see Emm in Oberlin the night before and she played "Idaho", which I hadn't heard live in over 2 years (since the last London, Ontario show I went to). That also probably qualified as the longest set I've EVER seen Emm do, checking in at almost two hours long.... she played EVERYTHING -- representations from almost every album. And she was funny as hell too (Bob in B.C., I see what you mean about the "high five" being her new thing! I've gotta tell ya, after 3 years of travelling all distances to see Emm live, I'll never tire of seeing her in my own backyard. she's played five, count 'em, five shows in Ohio in the last year, and even though the turnouts are small, I can assure you her fan base is building in our fair state. back to lurkdom... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rob Tittel DreamsAwake Music Music and Concert Reviews, News Tour Dates, Booking, Publicity, NetRadio, and more... www.dreamsawake.com Click here to Listen to Jericho Two, indie-rock, folk, and 90's alternative internet radio www.live365.com/stations/193197 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Smirky" To: ; Sent: Monday, November 11, 2002 6:10 PM Subject: Case of Tornadoes > If ever there was a night for Emm to just phone it in, > this was it. At least it was cozy and we got to see Emm perform up close. Her set was short but she put on a great performance. At first I was worried because I didn't see a keyboard but she was magical anyway. Hey Smirky it was great meeting you. I checked out your website and you are very talented!
