Those of you who haven't yet heard Kathleen (or heard *of* her ;)) will definitely be hearing a lot more from her in the near future now that her album is out in Canada and will be released on Rounder in the US in early 2003. I think a lot of folks on this list would really like her, although she has much more of a rootsy sound rather than a 'pop' one. She's been called 'Sarah Harmer's countrified kid sister', and I suppose that's sort of accurate, given that she has a similar acoustic-based vibe and is also managed by Sarah's manager, but hers is more of a rough, still developing sound yet. Her voice reminds me of Crash Vegas' Michelle MacAdorey on some tracks, which any CV fans could tell you is quite the compliment indeed. :) Anyway, I totally recommend checking out her album "Failer" and catching her live as well, as she has improved performance-wise in leaps and bounds in the past year, and her tight band often features (depending on tour schedules and such) some other super Canadian talents like Colin Cripps (Crash Vegas) and Jim Bryson. - - Tab :) _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Oct 2002 17:48:03 -0400 From: "celestial faerie" Subject: emm in TO hey, i was just wondering if anyone has any more info on emm's performance next week in TO (sat. the 19th) with andy stochansky at the palais royale? like what time it starts at, all-ages...and do tickets need to be purchased in advance, or just at the door? just inquiring about the ticket thingey...so that i dont get stuck *almost* not getting in like the last time at emm's cd release! thnx. kristin _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V5 #214 ***********************************
