She started with Summerlong, and the rest of the setlist I can't remember in order so here it is...I think i got them all. The End Symphonic Big Bang Baby The Waiting Room Christopher Divine Like You Stereochrome Julia Beautiful Things Siamese Star Northern Holiday For Stereochrome, she asked me if I would come up to sing backup vocals, because "everyone knows the words." haha. I was pretty honored to do that. :) She also told someone "no yawning" and she also told Attila to stop watching the TV. Oh and she asked them if they could clean the streets later, because during her set, it got loud like a vacuum cleaner. It was good to see Rob and Steph and Laura again, and we met a celebrity - Sarah, who was in the Beautiful Things video! Where's our review, Sarah? Not a terribly big turnout, but that didn't stop Emm from performing at her best. Emm can sound so good even without the aid of any backup musicians. Just her awesome voice and keyboards or guitar depending on the tune ("cept for when she asked Trish to join her on stage to help out with vocals on "Stereochrome", which made it sound all that much better). It was a real treat as Emm drove all the from Ontario (she said it took about six hours) just to play at a small venue in a small (although college) town, and with no other shows nearby in the immediate future. SO ..... THANX EMM !!! She came down with her Mom who was on hand to sell Emms' CD's after the show (I got a copy of "Asianblue"). I'm sure she is a very proud Mom :-) There were a couple of birthdays in the audience which she acknowledged. She didn't sing it but she played her own arrangement of "Happy birthday to you" on her keyboards. That was a cool gift for the B/day people. She interacted very much with all in attendance, and singled out a few to offer a special song or request, made for a very fun event. So hey, any of you other headliners there last night got anything to add? ----Rick---- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 19:02:28 -0700 (PDT) From: Smirky Subject: Re: Akron show Oh no! Nobody told me that Emm's mom would be there! She's such a sweet and personable woman and I really liked talking to her when she was in DC. Too bad! The mom draw might have made me drive 8 hours to get there! - --- Plmrrik@aol.com wrote: > I too was at the Akron show last night at "The > Lime Spider."
