MY AGE for gods sake. It's not fair to anyone >to have this disease at ANY age, but especially not so young. > Cancer is extremely prevalent to me it seems. most of us on this list are in our 20s 30s and even teens. cancer, heart disease and other health problems happen to our parents but not to us, right? sadly this just a myth that we choose to believe.. like smoking tobacco laced with hundreds(typically more than one thousand) of toxic chemicals (like cyanide, arsenic, jet fuel, paint thinner, theres no point in going on is there?) wont cause US cancer. it is simply not true. cancer happens to all of us ALL the time. most people dont know what cancer actually is because for some unknown reason, doctors and teachers rarely explain it. the cells in our bodies are constantly dividing to reproduce themselves. ocassionaly mistakes happen and a cell creates a "bad copy of itself" this is no big deal. happens all the time. the problem arises when these corrupted cells reproduce themselves over and over. these bad cells take the place of normal cells who are then unable to perform the tasks that they are naturally assigned to do. this continues so that the bad cells form cancerous masses that disrupt the proper functions of the body's systems and drain energy away from the legitimate cells of the body just like a parasite. a normal strong human imune system hunts these bad cells down and kills them before they can reproduce.we young people in the prime of life get cancer ALL THE TIME and our body takes care of it for us and we never know. the more carcinogens you are exposed to the more often your cells make bad copies. hopefully your immune system is strong and can keep up to that as well as all its other functions like hunting down and killing viruses and bacteria that enter your body all the time. but if your immune system becomes weak, and you are exposed to carcinogens (commercial cigarettes, second hand smoke and industrial chemicals are the strongest ones but is is impossible to avoid carcinogens completely) you WILL become sick from cancer. your immune system can be weakened many ways. if you dont give your body enough rest if you dont give your body enough exercise if you dont give your body enough clean water (most people drink horribly polluted water) but the biggest problem by far is the failure to provide the body with adequate nutrients. if you "eat right" or "eat healthy" or "eat a balanced diet" you are probably a lot better off than the guy who doesnt eat vegetables and fills his stomach with refined sugars but you still wont be providing your body with all it needs. this is because most of the food available to us is crap. the vegetables in the store were picked prematurely 3 or 4 weeks ago and ripened on a truck, a boat and then a couple other trucks. plus its filled with toxic pesticides and its not a real vegetable anyway since it is something that was genetically engineered to be like a vegetable "but better" the meat in the grocery stores is from animals that were grown in concentration camp type facilities, their populations so ridiculously dense that they couldnt possibly sustain themselves. the animals pumped full of dangerous chemicals to "protect" them from the many parasites that cant help but flourish in such obscenely concentrated overpopulation. this "protection" is provided so that they can survive the conditions long enough to grow to the most profitable physical size. of course they are injected with lots of nice hormones to speed that dull old natural cycle up. the only way for people in our type of lifestyle to get adequate nutrients is to supplement our diet with vitamins, minerals and essential oils. the pharmaceutical-medical complex says that supplementation is unnecessary. just eat a balanced diet. yet these same people have made it illegal to sell unenriched white flour. that means that in canada and the usa all white flour must have vitamins and minerals added to it while processing before it can be sold. why? because those things they add to the flour are necessary for our health and without it the white flour has ABSOLUTELY NO nutritional value. fucking worthless. empty calories. dont eat white flour dont eat white sugar. refined starches and sugars are not only worthless to your nutrional needs they are actually BAD for you because they mess up your blood sugar levels. the agricultural corporations are very concerned about the bottom line. they wouldnt provide the kind of health care to their animals that the pharmeceutical companies provide to us. why? because they hate to pay for something that doesnt work. they dont want to waste millions of dollars researching and creating drugs to deal with health problems (note the term "deal with" is not the same as "cure") why not just find out what caused the health problem in the first place and fix that? saves time and money. i'll give you a good example. a cow can get cancer just like a human. for instance, cows can get leukemia. now thats no good for corporate profits is it? how to deal with the situation.. drugs? radiation? too expensive! so they were forced to figure out that cows get leukemia when they have a selenium defficiency. so the ranchers make sure their cows get enough selenium and guess what? cows dont get leukemia anymore. pretty much all disease is caused by difficiency of some vitamin/nutirent or other. i highly recommend to everyone who might be reading this to take a multi-vitamin every day and also very important is a capsule of essential oils that have the omega3-6-9 fatty acids these things are not that expensive. dont gamble with your health.you can get both of these items at any pharmacy or probably cheaper at a GNC store or any local health food store. >I do believe in the power of prayer and positive thought >as a healing mechanism. I want to ask all of you who may be religious to >prayer to whatever god you pray to for my roommate. this is very true.a positive attitude will help keep the immune system strong. positive thinking can help make the body healthy. this is well documented for cancer patients. a positive attitude cant always save someone with cancer but negative thinking makes it too difficult for the body to heal itself. >I know there must be others of you on this list that have been personally >affected by this disease. we all know people that have died from this disease. many members of my family died from it. i had a cancer scare myself a short while ago. i read A LOT about the subject. i went for ultrasound and other tests. the ultrasound was okay. i feel very positive that i am completely healthy. knowing that i am providing my immune system with the proper things it needs to do its work gives me great peace of mind. i havent even bothered to go see my doctor to find out the results of my blood tests. rob, i highly recommend going to the bookstore and getting a book about complementary medicine. (this is the practice of supplementing what doctors normally do with other therapies and with what you can do for yourself) the best one i know of is dr atkins guide to complementary medicine. i lent it to someone so i cant remember the exact title. dr A is an expert on nutritional supplements or vita nutrients as he calls them. there is a significant part of the book about cancer treatments and what people recoverying from surgery can do to strengthen their immune systems and increase their chances. and tell kristen that there are lots of people she doesnt know rooting for her and wishing for the best. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 10:00:09 -0700 (PDT) From: "laura a. robeson" Subject: asianblue... where are you... Anyone out there planning to be at the Portland show at the Mt. Tabor Theater? She's playing in the acoustic room... a great little black room with cozy seats and special lighting... its going to be just fabulous. I am eager to find Emm fans in my area too, and wonder how busy the Friday show will be... I'll miss the San Fran show because I'm seeing Heart on Thursday night, but I will be attending the San Jose show. The San Francisco venue will be the noisier of the two, since it's a bar, with almost no seating... the San Jose venue is a coffeehouse, and it's a seated show, so it should be much more intimate. If you're not familiar with either of the two venues, you can find details with links to each venue (plus web links to all the other artists on the bill) here: At 14:18 07/29/2002 (-0400), Rana added: >Anyone out there planning to be at the Portland show at the >Mt.
