Does anyone know whether the Birchmere is all ages or the usual 21+? Thank you :) Emily ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Jun 2002 11:42:45 -0400 From: "Gretchen Corl" Subject: Re: NEC: Birchmere Hi, Emily: The Birchmere is all ages and one of my favorite venues ever. Should be a great show. Get there early...they hand out #'s as you enter and you are seated according to those #'s. It's all seating at tables, and mandatory quiet, no cameras whatsoever...it's a nice listening room. Seats 500, and great sound. www.thebirchmere.com If you are around DC during the day, you should catch Pat Benatar at 4:30 in Fairfax...it's $7. Bree Sharp is on later in the evening at 7:30. The $7 gets you in Friday through Sunday to 'Celebrate Fairfax.' Tons of good, old music and festivities. http://www.celebratefairfax.com/ Hope that helps! Have a fun weekend. Gretchen ps- if you don't already have tickets for Suzanne Vega, she will sell out, so get some quick! >From: Starfall18@aol.com >To: headline-girl@smoe.org >Subject: NEC: Birchmere >Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 11:08:59 EDT > >Hi...my friend and i are going to DC this weekend, and Suzanne Vega is >apparently playing at the Birchmere on Tuesday. Damhnait talked about it in that article in NOW last week... She's working on a new album which she says has a little bit more of an alt-country feel than the very shiny pop of her last album (which, to my mind, sounds promising, as I couldn't stand the last album and really liked her first), and is working with Tara and Kim in the downtime between those sessions... Sounds like an interesting plan - kind of like the really lovely tour that Damhnait, Suzanne Little (former Nettwerk singer-songwriter, ex of Lava Hay), and Melanie Doane (also due out with a new album soon) did back in 1996... It had a great, warm vibe, and those of us who were there still remember it fondly. I think people would take well to an album or a tour by this new 'girl group' whenever it does happen. I actually meant to post about it myself, but totally forget in the usual summer madness. ;) - - Tab :) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jun 2002 21:02:20 -0700 (PDT) From: "mark'eee" Subject: EC: birthdayS...
