In the end I spent $18 for something I will never use, if only to avoid remembering this day, and missed out on what I was trying to do. I hope others were more successful and have news to share. (is it my fault for owning a mac? eventually I got into the chat room -just after 7pm- using virtual pc and a visa card) Dave p.s. thanks for listening to a whiney post Try FREE Yahoo! 'We are the Champions' and the rest of it. ;-) But with all the twists and turns that have gotten us to this point, I for one will not be cheering until the doors of the new Ted's/ElMo (I really think it should be called Ted's, but I'm sure Abbas would like nothing more than to stick it to Burke by using his precious name ;)) open, whenever *that* will be. ;-) Until then, we're still stuck with a paucity of venues that play good indie folk-rock (although it's good to know that the Art Bar has *not*, in fact closed down - it's recent temporary closure was due to legal issues regarding the Gladstone Hotel itself)... I had to subject myself to the seedy confines of Rancho Relaxo last night in order to see Leslie Feist open for the Swallows (Blue Rodeo's Glenn Mitchem's sideproject, which, BTW, is very good). Hell, I'll go anywhere Leslie plays or that Yvonne books at, but really, there was just something about the old Ted's that made one overlook the fact that in actuality, that room was pretty much just as bad as Rancho. ;-P - - Tab :) _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V5 #52 **********************************
