We were REALLY hoping for a better turnout, but the 3pm Tuesday time slot was a hard sell for a lot of people, and I have a feeling the crappy rainy day hurt attendance at the 8pm show in the 'burbs. The earlier show was plagued by Starbuck's loud cappichino makers, but it didn't spoil Emm's mood, just made her sing harder and louder, and man were the few people that did make it there impressed. I want to say "hi" to and thank all our new friends who attended (Shiri and Isaac from Israel, Brad, Andy, and friends from Oberlin College, Rick from Cleveland, and Dane and Kelley from Cleveland) for coming out on this rainy miserable night. Emm brightened our spirits and played two incredible shows and made a few new fans. Hopefully everyone who attended will tell a couple of friends and spread the word about Emm and maybe we can have an even bigger turnout next time! Hope everyone who went to the Tori show in Cleveland tonight had an amazing time! The "party center" show, as it shall heretofore be referred to as, was started off by an impromptu set by Andy; Emm asked if anyone played guitar or piano in the "crowd" and Andy said yeah, so she asked him to come up and play something, and he treated us to two songs. I think he was a little surprised and shell shocked that Emm would ask him to come up on the spur of the moment and "warm up" for her, but her played two pretty cool songs, "The Alphabet Song", and another one, which the name escapes me at the moment... Then it was on to Emm for her lovely second set of the day. All in all, a wonderful day. Fantastic seeing Emm again, for the first time on Ohio soil since I saw her at Laura Robeson's way back in August of 1999 (my first ever Emm experience).... This was my sixth time seeing her, and I know it sounds cliche, but she really does get better everytime I see her. LOVED the new songs and can't wait until the new album comes out next year!!! Anyways, here are the set lists for the two shows for those who are interested: Catch ya all on the flipside! Pictures should be up on www.dreamsawake.com within the next few days.
