The first time I got to see Emm HEADLINE. funfun. Very good turn out. :) Convinced my best friend to buy Science Fair, even though she wanted Public (she is obsessed with Acid because of the mixed tapes I make for her whenever she has boy problems). Had to promise to BUY her Public at a later date. GREAT setlist, complete with an 80s metal medley inspired by Stephen Kellogg's 80s metal medley which was inspired by Emm. Your Sort of Human Being Wisdom Bus Crazy Train new song (???) Disco Lights For What Reason Lovers in a Dangerous Time Straight to You Doomsday Summerlong Hook Machine Case of Tornadoes Starcraft Camper Blues 80s metal medley Pour Some Sugar on Me (The order may be slightly off and I think I'm missing something.) Anyway, fantastic show. Fun was had by all. ;) Oh yeah, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Public Awareness!!! number of times Emm hit The Point pre-Public Awareness: 0 number of time AFTER: 4 (well, 5, but I would personally like to forget that traumatizing snowstorm that kept me trapped at home in the middle of nowhere) :) When will Emm be back? ;) elizabeth _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Oct 2001 22:50:05 -0400 From: "Elizabeth Weber" Subject: NEC: small scale concert rant (and Beta Band stuff) I went to see Beta Band Friday night @ the TLA in Philadelphia. They rocked, but it was rather disconcerting to be up against they stage. The sound is not ideal SO CLOSE and the utter lack of security is disturbing. Case in point... evil door people confiscate (and THROW AWAY) my water (understandable since they sell $5 bottles of water inside) and yet I see someone snorting something a few rows behind me and this psycho girl was waving her pipe all about. Hmm, can't bring in water (or outside food) but drugs are okay? More about psycho girl: just as I was getting really into the show, this psycho girl comes up behind me, pins me to the stage and covers my mouth with her hands. All this took place in a few seconds, but you have no idea how terrifying it was. She was COMPLETELY f*cked, definitely rolling, but had to have been on other stuff as well. Made life miserable for everyone and NO security to haul her ass away. She would pull at the wires on stage and try to pull down the set decorations... Beta Band roadies would run out and smack her hands. It is all kind of funny now, but I was quite pissed off at the time. Everyone in her general vicinity wanted to beat the crap out of her. I always have a run in with a psycho on South St. *sigh* Luckily the Beta Band were in fine form, so all was (relatively) well. I love their background movies. :) Go see them if you have the chance. elizabeth _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Oct 2001 20:02:58 -0700 (PDT) From: dana wagner Subject: Re: Emm @ The Point thanks, elizabeth! great to see you again saturday. the new song was "beautiful things" - one i still have mixed reactions to. appropriate for the current times, though, so it was good to hear. i must say that starcraft camper blues was PERFECT to end on (last song of the encore, after the 80s metal medley and pour some sugar). it was just perfect. the apocalyptic duo of "straight to you" and "doomsday" was fabulous as well. and stephen kellogg ... what a cutie! not to mention a great musician as well. he's awesome and such a funny guy. catch him if you can. hoping to get emm back at the point in early january. :) many more details of our crazy P.A.nniversary weekend to be posted in the publicawareness.net tour diary soon! dana - --- Elizabeth Weber wrote: > Emm was wonderful at The Point on Saturday night! > The first time I got to > see Emm HEADLINE. funfun.
