Withrow" Subject: OT: My debut novel, "Joy of Life"...Now for $5 less (I've mentioned my debut novel on all of these lists at some point and I wanted to let all of you know about the sale I'm having. Take care, Em) Hi all~ Some of you already own a copy of "Joy of Life" and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. It means the world to me. =^) There are also some of you who do not yet own your copy. This sale is for you. Due to their limited shipping area and lack of vision, I am parting ways with my first publishing company, Infinity. To celebrate this split, I am putting "Joy of Life" on sale for $12.95 US plus shipping to anywhere in the world, a savings of $5. For a 324 page book, that they charged me $11 per book to acquire, it's a great deal. Please check out my new website http://www.emmajeanparker.com for more information and to read the first four chapters of the book. If you have any questions and/or you have decided to take advantage of this deal, feel free to email me. All 20 copies in my possession *must* be sold by December 31st. Get your copy while they last! Love, Emily "Joy of Life"-my debut novel http://www.emmajeanparker.com Updated-8 Sept 01-save $5 on your copy of "Joy of Life" _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Sep 2001 01:05:12 -0400 From: "Kristin Alexandra White" Subject: Sarah/Lilith on Top hey everyone, ok this is a double-post...about sarah slean and the lilith on top movie that is playing in TO as apart of the film festival. just wondering if anyone is going to see lilith on top...and if so, what day...and if anyone is planning on going to sarah's slow on the 27th at lee's palace? oh ya, anyone going to see martina sorbara this coming saturday? im gonna try to...but i have to go to the take back the nite march first, so we shall see how long that is! also, i saw michelle branch last monday...she rawks! really like her. kinda reminds me of maren ord. does anyone know of/like oh susanna? kristin (ps. if i could only buy one jonatha brooke cd right now, which one should i get?!?) Be interesting to see > if the label continues to move in those sorts of directions over the next > year or so - the current signings certainly seem to indicate that, anyhow. Indeed it is quite cool to have them sign new up-and-coming artists, but my concern is simply whether or not they will continue to market them aggressively. Nettwerk seems to have a habit of signing really good acts, and then not doing anything to promote them (e.g. Wild Strawberries, for example). Let's hope they improve in that regard. - - Julian [ Julian C. Yes. I really liked _Sleepy_Little_Sailor_ though mainly for the Genie Award winning "River Blue". And while I really love _Johnstown_ and nearly all the songs on it, my favourite Oh Susanna, is her eponymous debut e.p. which has a marvelous song about the Sandcreek Massacre on it ("Jackson Wilson" -- which she wrote with Scott Chernoff). Why do you ask? James. P.S. Strange fact, Sandra Oh and Oh Susanna both won Genies in the same year. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Sep 2001 12:05:30 -0400 From: "Gretchen Corl" Subject: Re: Sarah/Lilith on Top Kristin.....buy Ten Cent Wings (Jonatha Brooke)....but, be sure to download 'So Much Mine' from The Angel in the House, and 'Nothing Sacred' and 'West Point' from Plumb...=). "Inconsolable" is one of her best songs, imho.
