It's too bad, though, that every time I've seen her do Disco Lights she always does the bass-only version. I much prefer the studio version, which makes me want to get up and dance; the bass version is much more loungy-funky which I've always found a little bizarre and less preferable. By the way, on an OAC-note: just got back from seeing Feist play at the Tabassum-organized benefit for homeless relief here. I know some of you are ardent Feist fans (KR, Dana) so maybe you can explain to me what you like about her music? I should come clean and say that I was not particularly impressed with her, but I'm curious to see if maybe the things I dislike about Feist are exactly the things that others like. Last night wasn't typical Feist. I've been following Feist's progress since that first show in '97. She writes some wonderful stuff, have you heard anything off _Monarch_? The title song is just so hauntingly beautiful, "It's Cool to Love Your Family" is sweet and catchy. I dunno. 5 years ago I pegged her as a "Rebecca West"/Alison Outhit clone with a lot of potential. In five years her guitar playing has improved immensely, her vocals ditto and she's evolved into having a very distinct sound. Besides, she's one of the nicest, kindest, coolest people I've met in the music biz. She's good people! :-) But music is very much a YMMV thing. You like it? Cool! You don't? That's cool too.
