I'm assuming it'll be just like a regular club >though, definitely not a huge light show or anything. from what i recall you have a pentax k-1000 or something like it. probably with a 28-70 zoom maybe 3.5 ap. just remember the more you zoom the less light will get through lens to the film. with a camera like yours you should have good results with kodak max800 (fuji makes a good one too but i always use max cus you can get it cheap at price club) even better get some t-max 400 (b&w) pushed one or two stops. b&w has a few advantages like if it gets underexposed it looks better than underexposed colour film and the colours dont get screwed up if the club uses tungsten lighting or funny filters. if you do try the b&w route get kodak T-MAX 400. it is a high contrast film perfect for concerts and well suited for pushing. to push your film a stop is really easy so dont worry if you haven't done it b4 or don't know how. just pretend it is 800 film by setting the dial on your camera to 800, shoot like normal and then be sure to tell the photo lab what you did. if the club seems darker than an average club you can push 2 stops, set it to 1600. ignore your light meter; the camera is lying to you. the meters on those cameras work poorly in low light settings and even if they worked properly concert lighting is more complicated than... just trust me. the rule of thumb is to not shoot at slower than 60 without a tripod but that rule is for sissies. you can set it to 30 and even 15 if you are careful. always try to brace yourself against a wall or lean your elbows on a table etc, whenever possible. goodluck! you can email me about this privately if you want. rob - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Aug 2001 15:36:28 -0400 From: rturingan@dico.com Subject: Happy Birthday HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------ End of headline-girl-digest V4 #185 ***********************************
