I actually listened to the song "Dilate" over and over again the last time I dealt with a break up... Great album. Some others I'd recommend: some good songs from Sarah Slean's "Blue Parade" (particuarly the title track), Tara MacLean's "Silence" album... so many more... jess new album "becoming" - demos/unreleased material available now for $10 @ www.jessicaweiser.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 May 2001 20:26:42 -0500 (CDT) From: Annie Lin Subject: breakup songs Lisa Loeb always does it for me. "Firecracker" and "I Do" off the Firecracker album; anything off "Tails"--not all the songs on that album are breakup songs but whenever I feel bad they never fail to comfort me. :> Comfort music. This song was recently used to help me cope w/ the closure of a long time relatioship. Also, I've found that any kind of ambient music (whether it be Beethoven, Delerium, or even Moby) is cathartic as well. This allows you to close your eyes, let your mind wander, and forget about all of your woes. Of course, I've made a few compilations just for this purpose. If you would be interested in the playlist, lemme know. Hope this helps. . . Joe PS - I assume that you don't want to waste time with the cynical, angst-ridden break-up songs?!? Of course, that's another category all by itself!
