I am pleased to announce the release of "Mariposa", the debut CD from Luna Taylor, from Austin, Texas. Luna is a long-time member of some other smoe music lists, and is a friend of some of us here on the Headline Girl list. In September, she came to New York on vacation and wound up doing some impromptu recording sessions at the studio where I work in Manhattan. In the weeks that followed, I mixed and produced those songs, and we happily ended up with enough great material to turn it into a complete album. We are very proud of the results, and I am thrilled to be able to help introduce the music of a wonderful new artist to all of you. Luna will be celebrating the release of "Mariposa" with a performance in New York at the Baggot Inn this Tuesday, January 2 at 7pm. Details are at www.baggotinn.com . She will also be performing for friends at my house in Jersey City, NJ tomorrow (New Year's Eve day) at 3pm. If you are in the area and would like to join us, just drop me a note. Admission to both shows is free. There are some MP3 samples on Luna's website, at www.geocities.com/luna_taylor . And, for a limited time I have posted an extra MP3 at http://home.att.net/~carnivore/Goddess.mp3 . Enjoy! Thank you for caring about music. The following supporters of the Canadian and American Music Industry demand that bands who wish to play across the border be allowed to do so. Crossing the border to play a concert is almost impossible for both American and Canadian acts. We are tired of paying for concerts with an out-of-country headliner only to find out that they couldn't get across the border. We are tired of booking tours for our bands only to be turned away. We believe it is imperative to assert a new law that will make it easier for touring bands to get into Canada and the United States without applying for a work permit that costs more than most local bands make playing across the border. You know, she's like that one girl that introduced many of us to hackey and plays songs and released an album last year which many HG members flipped out over? She's still alive... though we never hear from her anymore:) So we were snowed in today in the New York/New Jersey area and I was bored so I completely redesigned Trish's website for her... Actually this process has been going on for quite some time but I actually did this new design yesterday and today and it's finally (!!!) ready to launch... If you're a loser like me and plan to be home on New Years Eve, check out the relaunch of www.triciaconcepcion.com @ midnight!! Or check it out the next day after you're over your hangover :) jess, looking for a new site to design (any takers? ;) ) ps: rannie, can you forward this to the TF list? thanks! www.jessicaweiser.com | mp3.com/jessweiser "maybe irony has shown its face, now i'm falling from her grace" -meg toohey ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2000 17:02:12 -0500 From: Dan Stark Subject: OAC: Luna Taylor, "Mariposa" Hello all, If you're interested in hearing a new singer-songwriter this may interest you...
