(meghantoohey.com) yep, as i've mentioned before, she's releasing 2 cds at once. ROMANTIC BLUNDER #4 is a studio electric record and EIGHT SO LOW is a live acoustic album, recorded at a living room show. both are gorgeous pieces of art, in my very humble and completely un-biased opinion. :) just to listen to this girl play guitar is heaven. everyone should buy these records. i've bought several albums just based on recommendations from many of you, without having heard the artists, and so i'm telling you all - just get her albums! i think all of you will really love her. trust me. you can check out an mp3 of her song "test" on mp3.com/meghantoohey. it's an early solo acoustic recording. the song appears on both albums. :) she's on a small UK tour right now with the saw doctors, so anyone who may be in england or scotland, go see her (check her website for tour dates)! and she's playing a lot of shows in the boston area and touring the east coast early next year - watch out! summary: meg toohey rocks. she has 2 albums out. buy them. yay. dana ===== http://www.aquezada.com/dwagner Yahoo! I've heard it once before but I don't know where. When the song was finished, I hear the claps of the DJs and whoever else was there and I was like, "THAT WAS LIVE?!" It was too awesome of a performance to be live, but i guess it was. I didn't know who it was so I went on the station's website and found out it was her, or them. Is it a band or just her? I finally got "True North" and played "I will love you" 38,024 times yesterday. Then, I started practicing and began playing one of my latest songs, written a few weeks ago and it's the same thing!!! Same key and everything, but the tempo is a little faster, and I switch to guitar after the first verse. DAMNIT is what I said. I at least wrote the whole song and play instruments and not just write the lyrics! I was a little upset to find out that she only wrote lyrics and then didn't even picture the rest of the band, which it is a band right? on the website it said, musical group Fisher. I have much more respect for someone who can pick up an instrument *and* sing. And tambourines don't count! TLC ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Dec 2000 21:37:37 -0000 From: "Lindi ." Subject: Fisher I've been a pretty big Fisher fan for a while now and this is what I know coming directly from her. She does play piano and she does write the Lyrics.. the band is not really a band at all because it is just her and her husband. If you would like to see Fisher play the piano check out her video for "I Will Love You" on her web site www.fishertheband.com. And I dont think she puposely left out her husband in the photo spread of her album.. perhaps that was her record companies idea. When fisher performed on Farm Club She gladly brought her husband to the after interview and he answered a lot of the questions .. so I honestly dont think she is trying to shun him. Anyways you can check out the fisher interview at www.farmclub.com. see ya'll later Lindi _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. Also, they are a "band" but Ron is shy and does not to want to be in the spotlight, therefore they make it seem like Kathy is sort of the lead person. And they play with a few other people who are kind of permanent fixtures in the band... Also, I think your voice is an instrument and it's a pretty important part of that whole album. BTW, Kathy and Ron and really nice AND really talented people. My own personal opinion is that each part of an album is important: without great lyrics, even a well-written melody is a dud...and vice versa... And I think her lyrics (most, maybe not all, but on their first album "One" ALL the songs are awesome) are beautiful and meaningful... And Fisher chose not to play on the album--a lot of artists choose to do that when they record an album... I can think of a huge amount of really talented writers/singer-songwriters who let other people play guitar or piano on their album...
